Nutrition Banana

A nutrition banana is an oddly shaped, slimy, brownish-green fruit whose stem and leaves look like that of a mango. In its natural state, a nutrition banana looks like a regular banana with a dark green interior. The leaves are short and rounded, and it's shape has been likened to that of a grapefruit. Banners and fruit baskets, which usually contain a nutrition banana, can be hung at any time of the year.

A banana, technically a berry, is an underground, pungent fruit that grows on trees in several tropical countries. In some tropical countries, plantains are called bananas, distinguishable by their larger size (approx. 3" long). In some other countries, plantains used for cooking can be described as "dessert bananas" or simply banana.

Both plantains and bananas are members of the classifications of fruits of the tropics, a group that also includes pineapples, tangerines, and guavas. Both belong to the same general category of fruits known scientifically as superfoods. They also contain lots of water, which is needed by all the cells in the body. And, most importantly, both are delicious, so eating them is not comparable to some kind of punishment.

As far as nutrition is concerned, the benefits of bananas and plantains differ, especially when eaten raw. In addition to the fact that they are rich in vitamins, plantains contain a lot of saturated fat and other fats that should be avoided. It's recommended to eat only half a banana or, as an alternative, half a cup of boiled plantains. Both are healthy for you.

Eating plantains instead of bananas and other products high in sugar can help manage your weight. Plantains contain almost twice as much fiber as bananas, so eating two to three plantains with a mixture of mashed banana, peanut butter, and lime juice and ground cinnamon and salt is a great snack. You can also use a teaspoon of ground Cayenne pepper (more of the flavor, less of the salt) on top. The resulting product is a mildly spicy treat but not overpowering.

If you eat plantains and bananas too often, you may suffer from the consequences: rapid weight gain. The reason is that the combination of plantains and bananas can make you feel hungry quite soon after you've finished eating. This makes it very hard to control your calories, which can lead to unhealthy weight gain. Moreover, this can also cause you to experience the unpleasant (but temporary) side effects of food like nausea, sweating, bloating, and heartburn.

Eating plantains instead of bananas will prevent you from experiencing these problems. When you eat plantains, your brain signals your stomach to store more energy. This makes plantains a great addition to your nutrition program.

Bananas are fruits that can be enjoyed by everyone, but in a very limited scope. Plantains, on the other hand, are eaten by people who have specific health problems or who are trying to lose weight. A single ounce of plantains has the equivalent of about 21 ounces of canned bananas and, therefore, should be consumed along with other healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy products.

It's not easy to get enough of bananas. The berry has high content of potassium, which is crucial for regulating blood pressure and the amount of sodium and nutrients in your body. Plantains contain almost the same amount of potassium as bananas, and are therefore great additions to a balanced diet. However, when you eat plantains alone, their sodium and potassium content are significantly less than bananas. This makes plantains (and bananas in general) less healthy than bananas. And when you combine them with other potassium-rich fruits, such as avocado, they lose even more nutrients.

One of the reasons why eating plantains instead of bananas is even more beneficial for your nutrition program is because of the fiber provided by the banana leaf. Bananas and plantains are rich in fiber, which makes it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients provided by them. Fiber, in turn, helps your digestive system work better, leading to more regular and fewer meals during the day. Furthermore, the banana leaves add more bulk to your meal, making it harder for you to overeat. It also absorbs the excess sugar in your stomach, making you feel fuller longer.

If you're going to eat a banana, make sure that you buy organic ones. They're easier to digest and don't contain artificial colors or flavors. While they may be slightly pricier than the regular bananas at your local supermarket, you'll probably eat more servings of them in the long run, so it pays to shop around for the best deals.
